3rd B / 3º B - I AM FREE
I AM FREE, SO I CAN DO WHAT I WANT
OR
I AM FREE, SO I HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WITH WHAT I WANT TO DO.
Mirror debate on class 3rd B, Templários School / January 11th, 2013
Friday. Week-end ahead.
The last hour, or so, of the school week is usually dedicated to citizenship.
Pupils have their discussion weekly meeting.
There’s a chairman and a secretary who lead the discussion.
Two teams, face to face, discuss the theme.
At first, the team who was in charge of defending “I AM FREE, SO I CAN DO WHAT I WANT” smiled. They thought it was going to be easy.
But… surprise! The other side had much more things to say.
What was interesting was to notice that the team defending total non responsable freedom was not as comfortable as they imagined. In fact, both teams knew that there are rights and duties.
One important lesson not to forget: defending things in which one does not believe is not easy.
