The Limekiln
On Wednesday October 23rd the pupils of 6a class visited the old quarries that are located in our area. The pupils had a tour around the facilities of the limekiln and they watched the tall chimneys which are a landmark of our village.
A cultural trip
In June 2013, the 6th class students went on a three day educational trip to Athens. During that trip, the students visited the Oracle of Delphi, the Acropolis of Athens and the Parthenon, the museum of Acropolis, as well as the Historical and Ethnological museum that is housed in the Old Parliament building.
Last but not least, they visited the Greek Parliament where they were guided around and saw the room of the Plenary Sessions where the sessions of the Parliament take place. They were informed about the way the Parliament is run, the role of the government, the political parties and the President of the Republic.

Aspects of everyday life
On Wednesday 16thJanuary, the students of 6th grade visited the Museum of Byzantine Culture and they attended the educational program « Aspects of everyday life». The students as a part of an archaeologist, studied and recorded the objects in the museum hall called «early Christian city and residence» in order to comprehend the archaeologist’s work and be acquainted with the observation of the objects and their interpretation.
Students worked in groups, took part in creative workshops and with the help of the work sheets, learned about the structure of the houses in Byzantium, the utensils that were used in that era and the nutrition of the people in Byzantium.
